Perspective

I was asked recently, ‘As a Coach, what’s the single greatest thing you offer to your clients?’

Wow. Great question. Tough question.

It’s complicated, I thought at first. I have a lot of clients—all of them with completely different goals and challenges.

What is it? What’s that one thing? Can I boil it down to just one?

And then I realized, yes I can.

‘The single greatest thing I offer clients,’ I said, after what I imagined was a pretty extended pause, ‘is PERSPECTIVE.’

I help them to ‘see’ a challenge, an opportunity, a problem in a different light. With greater objectivity. With greater clarity.

I help them take a step back.

I give them the view that the rest of us have.

I help them find their power, when they’ve felt powerless.

I help them find their clarity, when before it escaped them.

I don’t give them anything they didn’t already have—including their own answers.

I just help them with their view.
